It is the result of tireless efforts and countless sacrifices of our country-men. Until independence, the internal and external affairs were controlled by the British. After independence, we became an independent country. Our national government is free from any external control. These ultimate powers are exercised by the elected representatives of people of India. Grand Ceremony at Red Fort: Following that occasion, on every Independence day, the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor national flag and gives a speech.

The Prime Minister addresses the nation and pays honor and tribute to the known and unknown freedom fighters who secured freedom for us. The National Anthem of India is sung. Parades of Indian Forces are held. This is a great moment for every Indians. On 15th August, , India had celebrated its 69th Independence day ceremony.

Similar events are held in very state. The Chief Minister of the state hoists the national flag, which is followed by parades and cultural programmes. Independence Day is celebrated in all the states and Union Territories of India.

The National Flag hoisting ceremony is also observed in schools, colleges, societies and government offices. Buildings are decorated by tri-colour lights. All these events injects a feeling of patriotism in our heart. The feeling on oneness get blossomed in the heart of all the people of the country.

This motivates our people, both young and old, to come forward and contribute towards the nation. Tribute to Freedom Fighters: So, let us start with the speech. Independent means not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence, capable of thinking or acting for oneself. If this is the definition then question to be asked is, are we independent?

Thousands of freedom fighters and million of people died to get the freedom from British Empire. They sacrificed their home, life, and soul for this country.

India does have imminent independence threat from neighboring countries and terrorist states, but Indian government and security forces are confident to handle them.

The Indian government is improving their arms and ammunition, aircraft, defense technology to handle these treats. Along with that, P. Modi is on a mission to form defense tie-ups and treaties with strategically important countries. We are trying to get a seat in NSG group , we are counter attacking a chinese offensive string of pearls strategy.

Government investing heavily in defense procurements. But, India struggling to control internal enemies. What are these internal threats? We are riddled with corruption , poverty , illiteracy , communal tensions, bad infrastructure, education and health systems. We still see rapes, child labor, human trafficking, slavery in India. Then how we can be an independent country by definition.

We expect the government to handle these problems. They are responsible for handling these issues. But we, people of India forget to slice and dice to the root-cause of it. Yes, the government has the responsibility to fix these problems. But we its citizen also have responsibilities. While enjoying the rights, we should not forget the responsibilities too. All of these corrupt politicians, business people, terrorist, Naxals, thieves come from same society. We need to change individually, each one of us.

People of this country needs to be kind, sincere, sensitive, secular, disciplined. In return, society will change and thus the nation.
