I enjoyed writing it, and although it might not be one of my better essays, it was certainly one of the most thought provoking. Aidan Sterk's Digital Portfolio. The essay is written in the viewpoint of the writer, of course, like all other written work. Since the essay was mainly focused on the writer's opinions of Race, Ethnicity, and Nationality, my viewpoint has changed throughout the project.
These are my opinions: The significance of Race in American Society is a complicated one. It symbolizes the evolution of culture from what was the standard during the first landing of British colonists in the s. An example of this would be that all of the people living in America have much more culture from what was the standard during the s.
Another example would be that culture is evolving as we go on with life. Also, each Race has a different standard of living that relates to their culture. One example of this would be that Jewish citizens practice their style of living, while Christians practice a semi-different style of living.
Yet another example would be that Catholics practice inside of a Church, whereas there is one religion that is not as well known where they practice in a makeshift field outside.
So, race brings up the evolution of culture from the standards of the s to modern day, and relates to culture. Ethnicity is what makes a human who they are as a result of how they are influenced.
Our ethnicity affects who we are as a result of how we are raised.
