The first cause of obesity is fatty food. Todays, most of the children are interested in junk food and fizzy drinks like sandwiches, chips and coke. These kinds of foods are not nutritious.

Furthermore, a huge number of parents buy fast food for their children instead of preparing calorie-rich food at home. This issue can be solved by purchasing food from traditional restaurants that they cook local foods , banning junk foods and advertising healthy foods in mass media, schools and textbooks.

The second reason for obesity is an inactive lifestyle. The use of technological devices has gradually risen among children. They spend most of the time watching TV or playing video games on a computer, so the progress of these tools has led to declining the physical activities.

This obstacle can be resolved by paying attention to bodily activities in schools and encouraging children to participating in sporting events. Moreover, parents can restrict playing video games on weekdays. In addition to this, the government can compel mass communication to advertise physical exercises.

The third factor of obesity is genetics. Although genetics play a significant role in obesity of children, we cannot change or fortify our genetics. But human beings especially parents must visit genetics experts or do genetics tests before their child is born.

In conclusion, obesity derives from several considerable components like foods, sedentary lifestyle and genetics. Any type of these elements demands effective solutions in order to cure this organic disorder. Over the last few decades, some countries have reported an overall increase in the average weight of people with more percentage in children and adolescents.

It was earlier thought to be a disease of developed countries such as UK, US and other European countries but now the similar trend is also seen in some of the developing countries like India, China and other Asian countries. The foremost reason of the problem lies in the food habits. Traditional and local diet were quite balanced and used to provide an appropriate amount of calories, Minerals and fibres in the diet.

Now due to globalisation and influence of media have changed the way we eat. Ready to cook meals are good to taste and can be easily prepared in no time. Obesity has become a major problem in the UAE. This is a difficult problem with many serious effects on the individual and country. One of the chief causes is diet. Young Emiratis eat more and more high-carbohydrate, high-fat burgers and pizza in fast-food restaurants.

However, some traditional foods are also very oily, and because of increasing affluence are eaten more often than in the past. Lifestyle is a second main cause of obesity. As a result of cheap foreign labour, many Emiratis now have sedentary jobs, and do not exercise regularly. However, one of the main causes is lack of education and awareness. Parents do not teach good eating habits to children, and many people lack knowledge about good nutrition or a balanced diet.

Obesity affects the individual and the country. The biggest effect is on the individual. First of all, being overweight has health risks. Obesity can lead to heart disease, diabetes, and other conditions.

The quality of life suffers, as it is difficult to enjoy exercise or move. Another result is lack of self-esteem. There are a number of reasons that led to an increase in the number of obese children; however, some solutions are possible to rectify the ever growing problem as will be explained below. In recent years concerns have been arisen over the diet of younger children.

On a day to day basis children are flooded with products containing significant quantities of sugar, preservatives and artificial additives.

The intake of such foods and the subsequent behavior is becoming increasingly apparent. Moreover, as the nature of play has significantly changed; with outdoor activities replaced by screen-time indoors, more young people are forsaking traditional activities such as bike riding or simply running outside, for indoor activities such as computer games and television programs. Undeniably, poor diet and lack of daily exercise are the main causes of childhood obesity.

The effects of such behaviors can be disastrous. Obesity leads to a higher risk of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer. As a result, these children will put a significant strain on hospitals and the rest of society in the future. However, there are a number of possible solutions to this problem. Parents, teachers as well as government should be held responsible for the well-being of the younger generation.

Schools should encourage children to take regular exercise and put more of an emphasis on the quality of food served within school lunchrooms. Governments could also help decrease the number of obese children by limiting junk food advertisements. To conclude, admittedly, obesity among young children is a growing problem; however, by engaging parents, schools and government in these issues, solutions are possible.
